"And Jusik still felt guilty for the unkind thoughts that never left him: that the Jedi Order had sowed what it had reaped, that it's acceptance of a slave army had set up it's own punishment. The Force had balanced the books."
501st Republic Commando
That’s right people be so-called most moral character is perfectly fine with Jedi suffering and genocide because they “deserve it.” What the ever loving crap. Jusik you’re lucky that I am not in the narrative because I would be smacking you with something very heavy yelling at you that no one deserves a genocide. Also, I would love to see him say this aloud or think this near a telepath like Obi-Wan Kenobi and watch him go very red and nearly lose his crap and beat the living daylights out of him. Or heck Cal or Rex or Ahsoka or Caleb. Because I can assure you, Rex would pretty much beat him to a pulp with no regrets. Caleb would smack the crap out of him and Cal? Oh boy, the other two would be very hard-pressed to keep that kid off of him. Oh, what about Reva? Holy cow if she heard him thinking that or talking that oh boy, would there be a major beat down and I would be on the sidelines cheering for that girl. I mean, basically his understatement of the year “unkind thoughts“ basically say that a bunch of people who were gang pressed into fighting a war that they themselves weren’t sure in accepting an army that a rogue Jedi commissioned and was financed by a Sith Lord thought is basically saying that everyone including the healers, the farmers, the artist, pilots and anyone who happen to have the Jedi title, including children and babies deserved to be slaughtered. I’m sorry that’s not a “unkind thought.“ That’s disgusting thought that needs to fill you with disgust not make you vaguely feel guilty. Guilty as she writes comes off as “my bad I did something really bad.” Thoughts like that should fill you with the disgust and revulsion. You should be guilt ridden and disgusted with yourself. And that kind of guilt and disgust should spur you into action so that way people are saved. Do you know what he does? Nothing then, on top of that in the behind-the-scenes interview according to the author, he wipes a woman’s mind that “magically“ erases her trauma and then beds her.
Edit: I would like to iterate that even if he feels “guilty” he’s still perfectly fine with people who are all for exterminating the Jedi. That’s like hanging out with a bunch of fascists and doing absolutely nothing to the people that they’re persecuting. Did he save his master? Yes but he did nothing to protect him from the other guy who is perfectly fine with the genocide so physically, he saved him, but emotionally he didn’t give a hoot so again it’s hard to feel sympathetic to the so-called “moral guy” if the only feels guilty and does absolutely nothing to help out and still has those thoughts in the first place. Again, this kid supposedly was a part of the order so he should know better but nope he still having that thought and is still OK with hanging out with people who have no problems selling them out to the empire. Those thoughts you shouldn’t feel “guilty” about. You should feel complete and utter disgusted with them and be doing something to help out the people. But then again, what do I expect about the same person who said that she cheered when order 66 happened?

Nope he wouldn’t kill Palpatine. He’d aid him and kill off Jedi by the dozens. Fox wouldn’t be thrilled either and let’s just say the Order wouldn’t be thrilled with Mr. Self righteous Jusik. Anakin and Obi-Wan would take him out
The war would be over very quickly in a republic commando/Coruscant guard crossover because the second he heard about the corries being mistreated by Palpatine, Ordo would have just straight up killed the chancellor with Jusik as his getaway driver. The next thing a very confused Fox knows is that he and his men have all been adopted by a very angry mando called Skirata. He doesn't know what happened but his evil boss is dead and he can now get more than 3 hours sleep a night so he's cool with it.

Clone Bang promo post!! 🎉
Team 12: Writer: @elthadriel (Ao3) Artist: @weatherbane Beta: @lyntergalactic
Posting on January 22 to the Clone Bang collection on Ao3!
@clonebang
Fortunate Son
Rating: M
Relationships: Niner & Omega Squad, Niner & Kal, Niner & Etain, background relationships, background cloneships
Tags: Aroace!Niner; queer themes; coming out; Etain lives; Kal’s A+ parenting; unhealthy family dynamics; homophobia, acephobia, and sexism from Kal
Summary: The war is over and Niner and Darman have rejoined the rest of Omega at Kyrimorut. Niner struggles to make sense of why the idea of marriage is so unappealing to him, his place within his squad in peacetime, and his rapidly cooling opinion of Kal Skirata.
Snippet:
“It’s good to have you back,” Corr says and hugs Niner firmly enough that he can feel it hard even through his armour.
It’s good to be back, even if it doesn’t quite feel like back. The swaying grass and promised domesticity feels like stepping off a larty and realising his chute is jammed. He’s not sure he belongs here. He is sure he belongs with his squad, and they wanted to come here.
Not that staying with the Empire was all that appealing either.
Fi tilts his head and looks over the reuniting couple. Dar’s put her down but they’re still not finished greeting each other. Is kissing supposed to be that loud?
“Years since we talked properly and he’s too busy licking her tonsils to even say hello,” Fi grumbles good-naturedly. “What’s a vod need to do to get a hug around here?”
“You aren’t as pretty as she is,” Corr says, and elbows Fi. Fi squawks in protest. Atin looks at Niner and then rolls his eyes in a way that suggests this is a dynamic that Niner better get used to. Niner’s just glad they’re getting along; it could have gone very differently.
Skirata appears without the limp that Niner so associates with him. His arrival is enough to finally part Darman and Etain. Skirata clasps Darman’s shoulder, and Darman’s back straightens as little as he’s guided over to Niner and the others.
“It’s good to have you both back,” Skirata says, and then looks at Niner. “You had us worried, son.”
Niner nods, and feels his own posture correcting itself. It feels like a light scolding, like the ones he used to get back on Kamino. Not the sort when he’d truly screwed up, but when Skirata was loudly disappointed at him.
Etain hovers close by, Skirata between her and Darman.
“It’s good to see you again, ma’am,” Niner says to her. Skirata's smile slips and Niner ignores it.
Etain smiles, and it’s a far cry from the tentative sort of smiles she used to give when they’d met on Qiilura; she’s grown a lot. “Etain,” she corrects him.
“Etain,” he repeats.
“We should get you boys settled in,” Skirata says. “I’m sure the Empire wasn’t feeding you.”
“I don’t mind rations,” Darman says. He manages to get around Skirata and takes Etain’s hand. “But I wouldn’t mind getting settled.” He hesitates, the loud kind of hesitation that has Fi pulling a face that no one but Niner can see. “How’s Kad?”
“He’s—” Etain starts.
“Looks just like you, son,” Skirata says. “He’s with Besany. I’m sure he’ll be delighted to see you.”
“You should come meet Parja,” Fi says, falling into step besides Niner, following after Darman and Skirata, with Etain awkwardly a step behind the pair. “She’s great. You’ll love her.”
“If she’s keeping you in line I’m sure we’ll get along fine,” Niner says, and it’s enough to have Fi launching into a rambling monologue about his wife. Niner’s happy for him. He is. Fi’s got everything he wanted, and he deserves that. That’s three of them married now, and with how much women seem to love Corr it’ll probably be four sooner rather than later.
Niner’s not sure where that leaves him.

Star Wars: Republic Commando: Triple Zero, Chapters 3 & 4
Chapter 3
"So she did what she had been drilled to do without thinking since she was four years old. She fought."
It can be hard, sometimes, to differentiate what is what in this series. For example, Jedi-bashing or just general stupidity (either on the character or the author's part)? It's hard to tell. But, given these books' track record, I'm going to err on the side of cautiousness and give this a point.
Jedi-Bashing: 5
Because the phrase "without thinking" makes me think of brainwashing and certain anti-Jedi arguments. Am I jumping to conclusions? Maybe. Has this series given me any reason not to? No.
"It was another reason why Ordo adored his sergeant: he was the archetypal Mando'ad. A Mandalorian man's ideal was to be the firm but loving father, the respectful son learning from every hard experience, the warrior loyal to constant personal principles rather than ever-changing governments and flags.
He also knew when to apologize."
That adoration is screwing you, Ordo.
Also, if Kal Skirata is the ideal of a traditional Mandalorian, then Satine's reforms were both entirely justified and did not go far enough.
Chapter 4
"'--but you'll probably have help sooner, because Delta Squad are in transit.'
'Oh, we'll never hear the last of this...'
'You haven't met them yet, son.'
'Heard enough.'
'Rough, rude boys,' Fi said. 'And rather full of themselves.'"
Out of all the characters in this series, Delta Squad have the most right to be full of themselves.
Deltas, Move Out: 1
"The image that shimmered before he showed one man in a familiar suit of Katarn armor, squatting with a DC-17 across his thighs. The blue light distorted natural color, but the dark patches on his armor suggested red or orange identity markings.
'RC-one-one-three-eight, General, receiving.'
It was time for names. 'You're Boss.'"
THEY'RE HERE!!!!!
Deltas, Move Out: 2
"'Boss receiving. Sorry, we had to stop and ask for directions.' He had a voice very like Atin's but with a stronger accent. 'My boys are now going to show you how to do an extraction properly, so take notes because you might blink and miss it. There's a Sep ship with missiles up the sprout about three minutes behind us.'
'Can we bring some friends?'
'The more the merrier. We're going to align with your cockpit, slap an isolation seal on the viewport, and Scorch will cut through. Then you shift it fast, and we RV with Fearless for caf, cakes, and hero worship. Got it?"
You are magnificent.
Deltas, Move Out: 3
"Fi eased off his helmet and inhaled fresh air. Except for Scorch, they had all taken off their helmets. Delta was one of fewer than a dozen squads that had survived intact since decanting, a true pod as the Kaminoans called it, and they seemed to think that made them an elite within an elite. They had been raised and trained together, and they had never fought with anyone but their brothers. It was a luxury few enjoyed."
They are an elite within an elite. And they improve this book drastically with their mere existence.
Deltas, Move Out: 4
Jedi-Bashing: 5
Mando-Shilling: 1
It's a Man's World: 1
Shut the Fuck Up, Kal: 1
Deltas, Move Out: 4
Mird, My Beloved: 0
Is This The Bad Batch?: 2

Remeber the scene in Triple Zero, when Sev was explaining to Fi the Atin-Vau freud?
“Atin’s sworn he’ll kill Vau.” Fi almost stopped dead. “Atin? Old don’t-interrupt-me-I’m-working-on-a-really-interesting-circuit? Our At'ika?” “Seriously?” Sev asked.
Yeah. One year later:
The ARC was walking briskly, heading north. Twice he paused to buy food from a street stall and slipped the wrapped packages inside his coat. Then he walked into the huge transparisteel foyer of the unirail terminal, forcing them to follow. "How far are we going to take this-?" Darman whispered. "I thought we'd just follow him and see where he goes." "Remember Sergeant Kal giving Sev and Fi an earful for doing an unplanned tail on a suspect and nearly screwing the whole operation?" "Skirata's light-years away." Darman wondered why he'd ever thought Atin was the quiet, thoughtful one. [Republic Commando: True Colors].
#star wars#clone commando darman#clone commando atin#kal skirata#republic commando#clone commando fi#clone commando sev#Darman wondered why he'd ever thought Atin was the quiet thoughtful one XDDDDD#i love how the perception of atin has changed#I think back then it was easy to assume Sev just doesn't know Atin that well and his opinion could be colored by his own conflict with the#it was Fi (and Darman and Niner) who spent the first year of war with Atin in the same team and Atin was the quiet one#the reasonable commando.#I mean#what Sev really could know about Atin#that Fi or the rest of Omega didn't when it comes to the man's behaviour?#and then one year later and atin is ready to beat down a'den and doesn't care what skirata will say when they are tracking missing arc#and he challenge niner about marriage#and really is there to get the life he wants and god helps those in his way#i think omega squad just needed more time to figure out atin while Sev has pretty good idea about his batch brother's nature#so i like to imagine deltas simply observed amused as each member of omega finally get the point that atin being quiet is a very misleading#impression (and isn't it the same about vau? XD)

Watch My Battleskirt
Fi/Ordo/(+polycule), rated E, no archive warnings, non-public crossdressing, plenty of sexytimes, Kal Skirata is homophobic and clonecest-phobic and needs to get over it
~~from Omega Squad: Targets, by Karen Traviss, Star Wars Insider, Issue 81 May 2005
see, it’s practically canon!
“Screw ‘im,” Ordo declares suddenly. “I don’t care. I want to do what makes me happy; that’s what Kyrimorut is about, right? And that means I’m going to put on a skirt, show it off to who I want, seduce the person I’ve been interested in forever, and let him take it off me. If—if that’s what he wants, too.”
“Actually,” Fi says, taking a step away from the door, toward Ordo, “he’d kinda like you to keep it on.”

“Attachments make a strong.“ Oh, for the love of Pete people believe that? Oh, and by the way, the one person I heard saying that quote in the Star Wars universe, and I’m pretty sure this phrase is paraphrase from him was written by someone who admittedly had never seen the movies and hated the Jedi with a raging passion. I’m not even joking. To people please quit quoting the emotionally abusive misogynistic ableist racist and intolerant cult driven member of a neo fascist group of people..Screw Kal Skirata
If I come across the words "our attachments is what make us strong", one more time, I'm gonna explode. Like seriously, I was enjoying this fic until I had to read this.
Once again, people are allowed to write what they want. But c'mon I wish they at least tagged it.
Sorry, just needed to rant a little.

The Lost Mattron
30 BBY
Vara Mattron quietly made her way down one of the many sterilzed halls of the Kaminoan military complex, the only audible sound being a soft thud of her durasteel steeled boots as they hit the floor and her companion’s boots, taking note of the way he limped from an old ankle injury.
Despite the years she spent hating Mandalorians for what they did to her family, to Uncle Varen and Aunt Natalie and little Falin, the ones she currently kept company with weren’t bad company.
Of course, that couldn’t be said about Priest and his psycho bitch. But other ones, like that Jango fella, or Bralor and Gilamar were decent people. She honestly pitied that Rau boy, a real sweetheart that one, it was unfortunate he didn’t go for his Corellian lineage, he would’ve made one fine admiral.
“Any particular reason why you want me to train them in that, Kal?” Vara asked as she adjusted her jacket. “I would assume Mandalorians are natural snipers or you’d go for Tervho”.
“Your methods and tactics fit better with my own then Vhonte. ” Kal remarks as he glanced down at her with warm blue eyes that were still vaguely familiar to her. “Besides, I’m pretty sure quite a few of my boys took a shine to you after that cheap shot at Vau.”.
“To quote my father: Don’t tell me what somebody’s potential isn’t, tell me what it is. Anybody has potential to be something, you just have to nurture it.”
“Sounds like he was a wise man then.”.
The two bounty hunters slowed their pace as she heard footsteps approaching them from behind and turned to find her employeer, carrying a small bundle in his arms.
“I see Boba having trouble sleeping again.” Kal remarks as he glanced at the bundle in Jango’s arms, which caused the younger man to give a tired smile.
“Good evening, Jango.” Vara greeted warmly as she smiled at the young Mandalorian. “Kal please tell me you got video feed of that. We need evidence that he is capable of smiling and acting human.”.
Jango cast an annoyed look at her while Kal actually gave a chuckle at that, smiling a bit. “You’re a riot, Vara. Really.” Jango remarks sarcastically as he adjusted his kid, earning a soft whine in response before Jango looked towards Kal. “Boba’s not the only one. Apparently the Alphas somehow locked the Kaminoans out of their barracks because they’re scared of the storm.”.
“That’s no surprise.” Kal remarked as he glanced towards the windows across from them, yet another storm was raging. “And impressive. Who did the slicing?”
“Either Thirteen or Seventy-Seven.”.
“And here I thought you said they weren’t your kids.” Vara adds as she noticed the proud look Jango had.
“They’re not, but they’re still my responsibility.”.
Vara smirked slightly at that. “You sure? I mean both Seventeen and Twenty-Six called you buir and you didn’t correct them.”.
“For all you know, that means training sergeant.”.
“Nope, your little redhead pilot told me otherwise. Papa Jango sounds so nice too. It’s quite adorable.” Vara knew she had him when he glared at her but didn’t actually deny it.
Jango sighed at that. “If you keep it up, you can just deal with them.”.
Vara just shook her head at the younger man. “No shame in accepting your role, Jango.” Vara says as she leaned back against the wall. “And the override code is Bralor’s birthdate. Vizsla decided to teach the ARCs a simple one, so we could override lockouts.”.
“Are you sure they’re not married yet?” Jango asks as he looked at Kal.
“Positive but they might have a kid together?” Kal responds as he glanced at the windows across from them. “At least I assume that’s the case, Xana reminds me far too much of Rav when she was that age and she looks more like a Bralor then a Vizsla.”.
“That wouldn’t surprise me, I swear they love messing with me.”.
Kal gave a slight shrug. “We may never know.”.
Jango just rolled his eyes then stared at them for a second with a bit of a pensive look.
“Everything alright?” Vara asks as she stared right back at him.
“Yeah, just noticed something, that’s all.” Jango responds as he started to walk off. “You both have the same eyes.”.

Okay so 4, 28 and 31 for the oc asks. Good luck!
Questions here
4 - A character I rarely talk about. That's tough. I tend to gush and hyperfixate. I'll go with Kal Skirata and Anakin Skywalker, mostly because I feel like their character development was utter trash. Skirata is a misogynistic prick towards noncombatants, but societally... that's his norm. Doesn't make it right or wrong, and say what you will about Traviss, but she created a massive playground for (especially the Legends fans) to play in. Kal is part of that. He just doesn't do much for me, though I think my favorite scene with him was where Etienne yelled "Hold!" and the fallout from that. I won't talk about Etienne because after Hard Contact, and the first bit of Triple Zero, she was completely useless to me as a character. Anakin... dude. I get it. We all go through puberty, but for most of us, we have maybe a year or two of just being a miserable shitlord. You, sir, were a miserable shitlord for decades, in one form or another. The way he was written during the pre-Empire years makes me want to froth at the mouth in complete rage... YOU ARE A WARRIOR MONK IN A CASTE OF WARRIOR MONKS AND YOU DON'T THINK THEY NOTICE YOU'RE SCREWING A SENATOR? I refuse to believe that the Jedi as a whole either a) missed this, b) ignored this, or c) thought it A Good Thing. So, rant aside, my lack of talking about characters, in general, comes from my dislike of how they're presented.
28 - My most dangerous OC. Nuts. Hands down. He has the power of the puppy-dog eyes and is so precious even Palps would be powerless to stop himself from cooing. Um... Chuff is probably, technically, the most dangerous. He was one of Bacara's marines until his partner got dead, and Bacara transferred him out past the blockade so he could heal. He's built like a tank (think Wrecker) and has the ability to short out his helmet speakers with his growls. His new medic partner is a gift to humanity, because Zen is completely incapable of being mean to anyone or anything. Someone curses, and he considers it "uncouth".
31 - an OC's Tumblr blog. lmao. Nuts would be absolutely all over the place. You want tookas? He's got tookas. You want massiffs? He's got those too. And MEMES. The madlad has memes for days and days, and can carry out conversations with them. No one is entirely sure where he keeps them all, or what his file system is like, but there is absolutely zero delay between a comment and him coming back with the absolute perfect reaction meme. His favorite is probably the "don't be suspicious" meme, and he's been known to walk down hallways, just humming that tune.

I just like to add a sign from the fact that I don’t like the Republic commando series as the whole I would like to say the reason why I get on Kal’s case and people glorifying him is because I have personally dealt with similarly abusive people. I have dealt with people who are emotionally abusive. And believe me it’s not glorious. It’s not fun. It’s hell. Hence why I drag him over the cold and I tend to be very critical people who praise him. So before I hear the constant whining of “ i’m so mean to the character and people that glorifying.“ I can speak from personal experience, dealing with people like that is not “fatherly“ or “loving“ it is a living hell it ruins people’s lives it’s not pretty.
And I love how they excuse it with “I love him and he’s so loving.” Most of these posters are women. He would be throwing misogynistic insults at them. So again I deal with emotionally abusive people it’s not pretty. They are not loving, and they are not kind. They are very selfish and insecure people that wish to inflict their insecurity and selfishness on other people.
Kal isn’t a loving person. He’s an emotional mess that inflict his emotional damage upon other people. “But he drank the fate of clones.”? And he did absolutely nothing to help the situation. He took Jango Fett ‘s money and just ran with it. He inflicted emotional suffering on the clones, and then thought that a few cakes and a pat on the head would help them get over the emotional trauma. And then continue to inflict emotional trauma on the poor kids that were stuck with him. Then proceeded to misogynist abuse someone who dared to have an affection towards one of his adoptive sons and then threatened her and threatened to kidnap the baby and raise him as he wanted and forced her to agree.
That’s not a loving father. That is an emotional abuser. I know he doesn’t learn from his mistakes because he keeps doing them. Acknowledging that you’ve done something wrong and then continuing to do it is not learning from your mistakes that makes it worse because you realize there might be a problem, but you keep doing the crap anyway. So yes, I am harsh on the character because I have seen emotionally abusive people and it’s not been pretty.

Traviss-Anon again. Sorry, sometimes I get my Legends works mixed up, I don't read it much. But Traviss pretty heavily influenced Open Seasons, and she also screwed up a lot of the continuity in everything because she doesn't hold much regard for anything she disagrees with. As for Skirata, he is an ass in her works. Manipulative and not really likable, so I'll enjoy your rework of him in Ben'Bajur. I have more to say but I don't know how to add here, I'm still new to Tumblr :P sorry for spam
Hello again!
Ahh okay, I was not aware of that, but it makes sense with how much involvement she had in the Mandalorian side of SW. And yes, from what I’ve read about her, I’m honestly not surprised she would disregard anything she disagrees with.
That’s disappointing to hear about Kal :( But I guess I’ll definitely be reworking him to my own preferences, since I’m going off bare bones descriptions from Wookieepedia and not reading her books LOL
Ahh welcome to Tumblr! And nooo don’t be sorry. Thanks for talking to me! :D

Rev Recaps Hard Contact (Chapter 16)
After last chapter, I had two glasses of moscato, so we’ll see how this goes.
CW: repeated mentions of rotting animal corpses/smell, characters getting covered in sewage (again), claustrophobia, mind influence
TL;DR Recap: Atin and Darman go through the gdan warrens into Uthan’s facility and discover they’re claustrophobic. Niner blows up the villa to cover the explosives Darman is using to enter the facility, and Majestic bombs some droids from orbit. Etain tries her best to be helpful. The blogger makes fun of both Atin and Dar for their explosives use. Atin and Dar find Uthan.
Beginning Kal Count: 30 Ending Kal Count: 32
So we’re gonna open up in Darman’s point of view.
I don’t know shit about guns. I live in Texas, but have never held, much less shot one. Does this mean that Atin has his finger on the trigger or is holding it just above it in the little circle thingy?
Also, Darman, sweetheart. Being the bomb factory does not stop you from blowing up. Just saying.
Kal Count is upped to 31, but mainly I just kinda love this quote. If you’ve read Triple Zero, then you may join me in the delicious irony of them wanting black armor this entire mission for disguise purposes only to finally get it right before a mission to Fest. Thus proving Atin’s point above. Anyway Jinart is sniffing echolocating her way along ahead of them, and eventually comes to a stop and points out the entrance to the gdan tunnels. They need to crawl through the warrens in order to capture Uthan inside the facility... so of course this is the moment that Atin and Dar both find out that they’re claustrophobic:
I’m not even claustrophobic, and it sounds miserable to me, to be quite honest. But, on a more... pointed, note. Izzy has already explained much more fluently than me how much this scene means Kal is an absolute shit planner. Because Kal built a home on Mandalore that was supposed to be a safe haven for any clone deserters who wanted to become Mandalorian in True Colors/Order 66... but Kyrimorut was built at least partially underground and partially uses underground tunnels both as exits and as connections.
I’m just saying, as we go through this chapter... we’re gonna see why that might be an issue. But first-
Listen, I may hate Jinart, but this scene makes me laugh pretty much every time. Every time. No inspirational metaphors for Atin, and Jinart is 100% scowling at him.
They continue on through the tunnels, and honestly the details get gross. Not just in the typical “fantasy escape through sewers trope” kind of way, but Darman smells something rotten that reminds him of bodies and Geonosis, so on top of his dizziness from the claustrophobia, he now has nausea, as does Atin. They ask Jinart about it and her first reply misses the point:
Listen, my guy tells me this is some sort of health code violaton, but I know fuck all about plumbing. And no, that is not all they can smell, but Jinart apparently doesn’t notice the smell of decomposition until it’s pointed out to her. Jinart eventually realizes what they’re talking about and assures them that it’s from the gdan’s prey. Darman feels relieved for at least a moment (that stops when he sticks his hands in entrails) but I’d just like to point out that the gdan, while primarily hunting merlies, have tried to eat our human protagonists literally every time they step foot outside. Anyway, Darman puts his hand in entrails, has a flashback of Skirata running next to him in something called the “sickener” which was essentially training in a pit full of nerf entrails, and struggles not to throw up in his sealed helmet. Joyful.
Kal Count is now 32.
Eventually they reach a larger chamber where Dar and Atin start digging out their tunnel to the pipes under the facility and Jinart leaves them to go back to Niner after Dar sends her away. Darman notes that it would only take one or two shots from the rifle to clear, but that would bring the roof AND a bunch of droids on top of them, so he and Atin keep working and sweating like pigs.Once they dig close enough, Darman uses their battering ram to break into the drain, and is promptly covered in a spray of shit from the pipes. This sends both him and Atin into hysterics, because again, they’re both not doing well in the confined space and are exhausted.
“Darman had never even seen the man smile.” And the first time is when Darman is covered in shit from a sewer pipe. Darman comms Niner to tell him they’re almost through, and the scene switches to Niner’s point of view.
Dar explains that they’re stuck at a filter in the pipe that will have to be blown open with explosives because it’s permacreted in. Darman asks for two minutes to set the charge, and Niner worries the entire time. He, Fi, and Etain don’t have anything to do yet, but he’s worried for Dar and Atin.
Niner is literally counting seconds and dealing with anxiety, Fi is calmly waiting with the cannon... and Etain is pacing. This is her nervous habit. Like, I had already headcanoned that, but it’s nice to be confirmed by canon. Even if Niner wants to chastise her for it and can’t.
Man, he’s literally counting the seconds. Etain is the queen of asking well-intentioned but awkward as hell questions, and I’m pretty sure the lack of “ma’am” is the closest Niner is every going to get to saying “fuck you”. I could definitely live without yet another mention of mind influence, but as I say, addressed in Triple Zero... and at least Niner’s not nauseated anymore I guess?
They blow the filter on the facility and the bombs in the villa at the same time to disguise Atin and Darman’s entrance. Droids start coming out of the facility, which is disguised with a barn, to investigate, but Niner orders Fi & the E-Web to wait and tries to dismiss Etain/get her out of the way.
Etain is already not content with her Trandoshan shotgun array blaster or Traviss has forgotten she has it, which isn’t unlikely. She wants the concussion rifle instead (looking at it “longingly” already!), and she wants a job to do.
Niner gives Fi the go ahead, so he opens up with the E-Web (which again a literal, actual cannon) and starts firing, with Niner assisting via grenades. The entire time, they’re being rained on with “hot, metal shrapnel”. But the droids stop advancing. so then Niner asks Majestic to bomb them from orbit if the droids start headed towards them from another direction.
Other than Fi’s comment, I’m not particularly sure why Niner expects Etain to be “in distress”. Or how he missed the fact that he was almost decapitated by shrapnel until Etain deflected it. Ngl it took me several readings of this scene to even parse the exact sequence of events. BUT it is nice for Etain to finally, actually get to be useful to Niner and Fi and do Jedi things without everyone including her beating her up about her weakness.
The scene cuts back to Niner & Dar, who have successfully made it in to Uthan’s facility:
Apparently if you leave Darman and Atin alone together without Niner or some other regulating force, you just get unending sass.
Dar has no idea what’s dangerous and what isn’t, so they decide to just explode everything, to be on the safe side. They make it through the inner chamber and are approaching the front of the complex, but haven’t seen anything yet. Majestic is bombing things outside. Dar is literally sticking high-burning explosives to everything he can.
“Disappointingly small” Darman please.
Darman. Why are you opening the potential virus box, Darman.
You can’t set in NEXT to the potential virus box? Like the box is somehow gonna withstand that charge?
Yes, Atin, the fridge door is going to withstand the military grade explosives.
Anyway, Atin uses a mini emp to partially unseal a containment door, which is useful and also will later screw them over. It raises just enough for Dar to wedge something under it and the two of them the muscle it open, and then they start the “house clearing” portion of the op, headed into the part of the facility that’s actually inhabited. Droids and Separatists pin them down, so they comm to Fi & Niner. Then things get worse as they’re pinned in place by bulkheads.
So things are not looking great. They’re trapped by bulkheads, surrounded by Seps on the other side of those bulk heads, they no longer have access to their explosives.
Except.
I had to google what “half look different” meant. Like, I was pretty sure it meant “really” but I had to use google to confirm. Provided the British don’t also use a different connotation of “amazing” when using it in slang though... Atin likes Uthan’s hair?
Anyway, they found the mad scientist trying to kill them, and she’s armed and trapped in a confined space with them, so we hit a pretty good cliffhanger here, or would’ve if this were an episode and not a chapter.

A picture of yourself surrounded by characters you strongly relate to. I put my icon in the middle because I don’t like posting pics of myself online.
Reasons why:
Kal Skirata: I think the Old Jedi Order is full of crap and care far too much about characters that get screwed over in-universe.
Kincade: My frequent response to being told I can’t do things.
The Flash: I talk fast when I get excited and get hungry way faster than I should
Samus Aran: I’ve been given mind-numbingly stupid orders by authority figures and argued about them.
Nightcrawler: I’m Catholic and have a great sense of humor.
Riddler: I love wordplay a whole lot and easily get impatient with people.
Nick Valentine: I have a well-founded disdain for the Brotherhood of Steel.
Yoshi: I’ve gotten screwed in group projects by being placed with people who contribute very little and who I have to carry through the whole ordeal as I work my butt off to get a 100.
I tag @celticpyro, @bartonmathis, @lawful-evil-novelist, @mortalorder, and @maxis-sketches.

I KNOW WHAT I MEANT TO ASK! I've been thinking about this one for a while. Headcanons for Darman??
Ah, well, the truth is I read RepCom series mainly for Vau & Mird, Delta Squad (and to some degree Atin too) and in hope someone will beat the shit out of Kal finally. What means, not much headcanons for Darman, beside those fews:
Darman has a bit screwed up idea of how should looks normal life. It’s true for all clones, but Dar - and all clones trained by Skirata - from childhood was feed with image of true (male) Mandalorian/warrior with wife and kids. Something that Skirata personally wanted and had at some point, but utterely screwed up while never truly understood what went wrong. His clones to some degree subconsciously feels like they need to find a nice (or any) girl to marry because it’s something that Skirata would do & wants for them… without ever asking what his boys really feel about the matter
By no means Darman would feel any strong hate for clones who prefer company of men more than of women (or their own or none), but I always headcanoned that Skirata’s commandos are too influenced by Kal’s own idea of happy (heterosexual) love to consider anything else (in contrast to Mandalore non-gendered culture and approach to someone’s personal life). The whole situation would be confusing as hell though.
One of reasons why Darman and Etain get so well along from the start is that both were so utterly lost at that time. Literally and figuratively - Darman still was mourning the lost of his brothers, Etain just lost her master and was on her own. Their own company and shared experiences made them feel a bit less lonely and relieve still so fresh pain.
When Darman spent a night with Etain, he didn’t really think about consequence. Not because he didn’t care about that or thought Etain (as a woman) should be the one to protect herself. It’s more the fact that he knew basic stuff about sex & human interaction / biology but he was never really prepared for any kind of intimate relationship.
What Skirata did to Darman by not telling him about his and Etain’s son for ever changed their relationship. Darman may still love Kal and care for him, but the unquestioned trust he had for Kal was destroyedfor good.
The brotherly bond between Darman and Atin grew stronger after that, since their trust was once “betrayed” by their training sarges

He’s a foul human being that masquerades around his being “moral“. I can already see people like Rex telling him to shut up and less than polite terms to stay out of clone rights because clearly he does not care about the clothes as people more as props to say how moral he is. Oh yeah, and any, and all Jedi survivors should stay away from him because there might be a beating for him. This is the same guy who apologized for bring a genocide survivor to the cult center and allowed said survivor to be emotionally abused and threatened.
